President Andrzej Duda

The Polish American Congress wishes to extend congratulations to Andrzej Duda who assumed the office of President of the Republic of Poland on August 6, 2015.

The inauguration ceremony took place before the National Assembly in a joint session of the two houses of the Polish parliament Ė the Sejm and the Senate.

President Duda stated in his inaugural address that he is in favor of Polandís greater engagement on the world stage and building a strong and well-equipped army. He emphasized that strength is crucial for the independence and security of Polandís citizens. President Duda also stated he will seek an enhanced NATO presence in this part of Europe, including Poland.

President Duda announced plans to set up an office at the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland that will deal with the Polish diaspora and Poles abroad, expressing the importance to intensify cooperation with them.

President Duda was elected in universal elections on May 24, 2015.
