Dr. Mark Pienkos serves as the PAC National First Vice President having been elected in October 2021. From 2014-2021, he served as PAC National Vice President for Public Relations.
Mark and wife, Ann (Lesniewski), were married in 1972 and have three children and two grandchildren.
Mark enjoyed a successful career serving as a teacher, school counselor, associate principal, principal, and school district superintendent.
Mark graduated from Northern Illinois University with B.S.Ed. and M.S. Ed. Degrees, then earned a Specialist Certificate in Administrative Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In 1993, Mark earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California, specializing in Executive Leadership.
Recognitions: “Polish-American of the Year” – Pulaski Society of Milwaukee, “Polish-American of the Year” – Milwaukee Society (PNA Lodge 2159).
In 2015, Mark was awarded the “Cavalier’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland” for his work building bonds between the United States and Poland.
Mark and Ann are heavily involved in community affairs. Civic duty is a passion for both. Polish Pride has brought them into various leadership positions in Polish organizations – locally and nationally. Besides current responsibilities as National First Vice President, Mark holds membership in PAC-Wisconsin and PAC-Western Florida Divisions, as well as in the Polish American Council of Texas and American Council for Polish Culture. Presently, Ann serves as President for the Polish-American Association of Sarasota, where Mark is a member.
Mark considers himself a “servant leader” focusing on promoting innovation, empowering people, and actively listening to others to achieve results. Servant leadership approaches situations from the perspective of what are the needs of stakeholders.
Founded in 1944, the Polish American Congress has a proud history. Mark is determined in his new role to help move the PAC forward. “Working together, we can – and will – do great things!”
